Turn your FBI-LEEDA experience into a degree at Indiana Tech

October 22, 2026

If you have a background with FBI-LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association) training, you can accelerate your way toward a degree at Indiana Tech.

FBI-LEEDA is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to advance the science and art of law enforcement leadership and promote the exchange of information to improve law enforcement management practices through training, education and networking among police professionals. It began as a conference among Federal Bureau of Investigation officers in the nineties before becoming a national training program.

Through this partnership, members, employees and their spouses receive a 20 percent tuition scholarship at Indiana Tech that can be applied toward flexible online degree programs that are designed for busy working professionals.

Eligible FBI-LEEDA training could also qualify a student for up to:

  • 12 undergraduate credits
  • 12 graduate credits
  • 9 doctoral credits for graduates of FBI-LEEDA’s Five-Star Chief Executive Institute

Indiana Tech criminal justice program lead Dominic Lombardo says the training is valuable to the university because it is formal, leadership-centered and professionally recognized law enforcement education with measurable learning outcomes.

“A partnership that recognizes and integrates FBI-LEEDA training into academic credit opportunities directly advances the mission of Indiana Tech’s criminal justice programs by bridging theory and practice, enhancing leadership development and strengthening connections between the university and the law enforcement profession,â€ Lombardo said. “Because FBI-LEEDA programs attract supervisors, command officers and executive leaders from diverse agencies, the partnership increases the university’s visibility among criminal justice professionals and creates pathways for recruitment, professional development and collaborative learning.â€

He notes that students with FBI-LEEDA training are often well-versed in areas of leadership theory and application, organizational management, ethical decision-making, strategic planning and many other outcomes aligned with Indiana Tech coursework.

Depending on the state and types of law enforcement and FBI-LEEDA training, a student could earn significant transfer credit for degree programs like criminal justice or organizational leadership.

Many Indiana Tech degrees can be earned entirely online, with classes starting every six weeks. If you’re unsure how your credits would apply, contact Indiana Tech’s admissions team for a complimentary credit evaluation and learn how your training, leadership experience and professional accomplishments may help fast track your path to a degree.

FBI-LEEDA is not affiliated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, though its use of the acronym and seal were required and approved by the FBI.
